She may have not won the title as the 11th American Idol but she's definitely the world's idol with the most hit on Youtube. The last time I followed a singer up to the finals was Regine Velasquez when she was a consistent weekly winner of the Bagong Kampeon and she won. I was hoping that Jessica would win as well but she didn't. Well, it is more difficult now to know who's the best because of the power of "text vote". The winner may not be the best but if he/she has the support of many fans he/she would surely win. The performance below is one of Jessica Sanchez's best. It surely shows how matured her voice and artistic interpretation is. Of course, Jennifer Holiday is one of the legendary original artists. Both of them has really made this performance one of its kind. American Idol Season 11 (2012) All Performances:This video has invited controversy in Youtube because of the title. She might not be greater than Mozart but she surely is a prodigy. I also agree that it's not a good comparison especially that Mozart was not only a pianist but a composer (improviser) child prodigy. But hey, maybe the title makes the people click and watch the video. PS. there are only few "unlike" clickers. He is probably the greatest harmonica player ever known. So beautiful voice and his facial expression tells us more about the amazing grace he's talking about. I took my headphone to listen to this again because I thought at first that he's the Lang Lang in the organ but NOT AT ALL, he's a GENIUS! Remember the reason why BACH composed this music? To show the utmost capability of the organ and HE DID IT! He showed different contrast of volume and timbres. Just so amazingly beautiful! I had goosebumps in the beginning of the Fugue (2:44). People are comparing him to Susan Boyle... but not me. For me, his voice is just so pure raw talent. In the world of music, lots of people are rich and have enough training to develop their talent to their utmost potential but for this kid he just loves to sing and imitated the music that he loved to listen to. Isn't that the basic meaning of music making? What is this kid telling us? What is God telling us about our talent? It's for us to figure out. Lots, if not all, of famous composers had suffered a great deal in their lives and has expressed their emotions, both happy and sad, through music. This guy amazes me because when he talks about music his facial expression changes. That shows how much he loves singing and music and how he fills his song with emotions. Why do we avoid suffering if what we could produce is beautiful music? Is it the reason why God gave us emotions and sufferings? BRAVO! I am his fan already. I'm hoping to see a CD of his. |
